Just read where Patti Elder Gray commented on those OLD typewriters we used in high school and how ancient they are today. Just want to remind everyone that I won the Best Typist award when we graduated. I've laughed about that my whole life!

Thank you so much, reunion committee. You've done a great job of getting us all together. I hope to be there but not sure I'll be able to make it. There are so many friends I'd love to see again and can NOT believe we've been out of high school for 50 years. Just doesn't seem that long, does it.

I received a letter from Claudia Henderson about the class reunion and it brought back many fond memories. We will not be able to attend the reunion but I certainly enjoy reading the posts and looking at the pictures. When I graduated from Old High, my secret desire was to be a career diplomat. That did not happen unless you consider the Viet Nam War part of that. I served as director of prisoner of war studies for Viet Nam when I was chairing the gastroenterology program in San Antonio. I was planning to stay in academics and again that didn't happen due to catching a wierd pneumonia from a kid back from Viet Nam that caused a heart attack and lung damage. I retired from private practice last year and now am concentrating on golf, painting and finally the time to read and write on US foreign policy. I found Bill Reichmuth in California and wow, has he had a career. Ronnie Crane got his PhD in chemistry and now is on the East Coast. Mark Medford has had a stellar career in nuclear science for the TVA. I wonder if he and David Bowersock still play dixieland music.
